Portrait sold.

The portrait Morren Galleries sold recently was photographed and the picture was sent to me today so I can show you now which painting it is. See below. It is painted on stone 40 x 40 cm.

Exhibition April the 30e

This coming monday the 30e of april and it is the Queens Birthday. I will be exhibithing at PARKKUNST in Alphen a/d rijn with lots of other artists

New Portrait..

Just a start..
This is a study of a friend of mine. I'm experimenting with composition and light. And the background was an experiment as well. Also normally I draw first but this time I painted from scratch.
Working on three projects at the same time works well for me :) To be continued..

exhibition Monogromie

portrait sold

I am very exited this week Morren Galleries sold a portrait of my son on stone.
This is rather unusual since the people who bought it have no connection with my son. Most of the time I sell portraits in commission.
Lately it happens more often people buy portaits of my collection without commission. This I like because it offers me more freedom to just make what I want :)
I haven't got a picture of the sold one but it is simular to this one:

Opa Jan

This week I painted a small portrait of my dad. It is made on stone with oils and it measures 30 x 30 cm.
It was much easyer than other portraits because I know him so well and see inmedeately if it is not him. The light was rather difficult and I've been changing it over and over.

Today I worked on a portrait in commission. The person is drawn and painted from a picture I did not take myself because the lady lives in Germany. This is a little harder than when I can choose myself what light and expression I work with. Still I very much enjoy making her visible on the canvas.

This is the same portrait a little further. I like to work on more than 1 project at the time. Today I worked on the light in this portrait and started with a new painting.
